Love the sleek disappearing vent. I had a downdraft that was directly in the center of the cooktop it was the GE modular top (horrible) design. I hated it for multiple reasons! That™™s all gone now with this new exhaust system that I actually enjoy so much!

Pretty straightforward installation. Moves quite a bit of air but is kind of loud. I™™ve only tested it so far. Haven™™t really had a chance to use in less than 24 hours.

I mean, they suck, but if you don't have a vent, this is about the best you can expect. This is my third one over the years. The button is a sticker, and if that gets too much grease on it, you have to replace the electronics. Wish there was a better system for that. Anyways, it has a slightly different footprint than previous models due to the fan being a bit of a different shape, but generally fit the same.

We replaced a Kenmore downdraft that no longer worked. This unit was easy to install in the same location. Instruction manual was easy to follow, including information on how to rotate exhaust fan to meet up with existing ductwork from previous unit.

Poor product quality and poor design- had to replace my 30™ GEProfile downdraft - / had to spend almost $1000 for a new whole unit because GE discontinued switch. New unit fan was installed at factory with shaft backwards do it was rubbing ™"- also the new filter screens! What a joke - installs backwards too!
Very dudapin the workmanship of the replacement unit. Where has our quality gone America??? I™™d like to add pictures of the old screen design versus the new piece of crap but couldn™™t
Figure how how to do it- suffice it to say I™™ll be surprised if they last more than a few months ð¤¬

This is a magical device that if you ever had a downdraft stove before, get a new flat cooktop stove and use this in your countertop!!! It's Awesome!!

Nowhere in the information does it tell you that this is NOT FOR USE BEHIND OVENS. I have purchased a GE Cafe Slide-In and need a downdraft exhaust. GE uses the word UNIVERSAL far too loosely. It's not UNIVERSAL - it's only for use behind cooktops. I now have $1000+ UNIVERSAL downdraft vent system which, because of the usual supply chain and contractor challenges, I can't return to GE. Now I'm likely going to have 7" gap between the back of the stove and the downdraft vent, and an odd looking countertop to manage the gap. Thanks GE.

WEe had the previous model of this. It was less than 7 years old. It broke a year ago and after waiting 10 months for parts, I got informed by GE that they weren't supplying parts for the old one (planned ob(BULLET)so(BULLET)les(BULLET)cence..).
So I bought this one which is supposed to replace the old one. The dimensions are different. It's wider and deeper. So after spending $550 to have someone rerun electrical and gas so that the new one fits -- I have it installed.
Bottom line - I spent a $1600 to replace and install a new exhaust fan because GE (which is actually Haier NA -- not GE at all!) won't stock a $50 part for a previous model.
My warning is two-fold. This isn't a perfect replacement for their older model. Understnd that this isn't your mother's GE. It is Haier NA with a whole different take on quality and service.
