Electric dryer 14 months old - purple wire connecting to heating element burnt off at connection. Common problem with GE design. GE should provide updated rated wire section for replacement for free.

Main Dryer Button Malfunction within a Month

Was not very happy with the fact that within a month the main dryer button malfunction/ broke. Had to call to get repaired. Service technician removed a button from another part of the dryer and placed it on the main dryer button area for it to be functional. Card is on back order and therefore my dryer has not been fully fixed.

We bought this dryer 4 months ago April 8, 2026. It stopped dryer clothes today August 5, 2026. We purchased from Lowe™€™s so they can™€™t help with service. Lowe™€™s refers me to Bodewell to schedule a service call but I am getting no response. Not sure what to do at this point. Went through the same thing last year worh rhe GE new washer took 6 weeks to get resolved. Need to buy local appliance shop.

Bought this dryer new from Lowe™€™s, it worked properly for 3 days and the high and medium heat stopped working. We contacted GE and bodewell about this issues, they sent a 3rd party technician out to inspect the issue. He found that the timer/controller had went out on the first or second cycle. Very little to no communication from anyone (GE or Bodewell) , they let the claim time lapse and closed it out. And I had to repeat this process once again. And the parts are now on back order, 6 months of trying to get a new dryer fixed with very poor communication and effort to try to make this right. We have almost all GE appliances in our home and this is dry has need nothing but a head ache along with GE and Bodewell! I highly recommend DO NOT BUY THIS DRYER and DO NOT count on the warrenty department!!!! BUYER BEWARE****** My dryer is still not fixed! Horrible Costumer Service!!

Horrific dryer. Takes over 320 minutes to dry (based on how many times I have to choose 80min dry time). Yes my vent was cleaned so there is no reason why a brand new dryer can't dry. My last review of this dryer was removed for being a 2 star rating.

I love my dryer. It does an excellent job and the buzzer is loud enough for me to hear. Highly recommend this GE dryer. It is quiet and has a large capacity. Dried a quilt with no problems. The different levels of heat make it ideal for heavy items or delicate. Doesn't ball the clothes up causing them to wrinkle. I couldn't ask for a better dryer

Concerns out of the box

Biggest issue: the door wouldn't close properly. The tension on the hinges was too tight, causing the door to barely latch shut. The slightest bump on the door or machine would cause the door to pop open again. Fortunately, in the course of switching which side the door opened from, I was able to adjust the door in a way that it now closes and stays closed. But this is the kind of babying I would expect from "some assembly required", not "ready out of the box." Other minor issues: one of the warning stickers on the back was stuck over some of the venting slots. Careless. Also, the sticker holding the door shut says not to remove until after the unit is installed, but the installation instructions are shipped inside the drum. Clearly not well thought out. While the cosmetic issues were easily addressed, and the door ultimately worked out, I worry that the lack of quality demonstrated is a foreshadowing of things to come. I'm hopeful but cautious.

The method of keeping door close is not good. It™€™s so tight that we have a hard time pulling it open. Plus, there is no way to prevent door from opening to far. Btw, I fixed the 1st problem. I removed the piece and I attached magnets to keep door closed and easy to open door. To make sure magnets were stable I put glue on them then attached magnets. I used 5 magnets. Perfect solution. Send me a check for my problem solving solution. How about a refund on the cost of the dryer. $750.00

The capacity and speed at which clothes dries is great. The dryer is quiet, no noise which is appreciated. I wish the lint trap was a bit larger but most of all the door has to be almost be slammed shut. There is no quiet way to shut the door.

The washer is very noisy and annoying. When I contacted the retailer where I purchased it, I was told GE washers are noisy - no one mentioned it to me when I was buying it. Although I have only had it for one week, I was told nothing could be done because the deadline to reurn it was two days after delivery.

Overall, ge has been a good performing product. However, this brand new drier has reversible door and the employee at the manufacturing plant stripped out all 4 screws for the hinges during installation. A day old drier and we'll never be able to take that door off. Is this something covered in the warranty. Because the wife planning on reversing the door. I don't want to hear it for the next 10 years. Disappointed in Florida.

faulty timer

put the dryer into service June 13,2025 by December the dryer stopped working thru trouble shooting I found out the timer was bad (turns out that the steam of the control device rounded off due to the the fact it is plastic and the device is very hard to turn). I did not figure this out until the replacement time did the same thing rounded off June . A very simple fix is to make the replacement timer with a metal steam ( yes it would cost more but would definitely fix the problem)
